With five years of experience in land development and landowner relations in renewable energy, as well as ten years in the real estate sector, Pontus has extensive knowledge in land development and a good understanding of the landowner's perspective.

Pontus has previously worked for companies such as Fortum and BeGreen, where he worked with landowners in the development of solar parks and energy storage. He has a degree in real estate economics from Halmstad University and has during his career worked mainly with landowners and long-term real estate business.

For Pontus, successful project development is about solutions that create value for all parties in the long term.

"It is important to understand the landowner's side of the project. For example, if the land is owned as an investment or is part of the family's history. It is interesting to see how we can contribute with a diversified source of income to their business as a whole", says Pontus.

This attitude goes hand in hand with Fu-Gen's way of working. Several of the employees in the Swedish team are landowners themselves and know that the decision to lease land for energy infrastructure is a big decision that requires both long-term thinking and trust in the company. Fu-Gen currently owns four wind farms in Sweden and develops energy parks with both production of renewable energy and storage in several parts of the country.

"An important reason why I chose to become part of the team at Fu-Gen is their experience, competence and understanding of the market. Fu-Gen also owns energy-producing facilities that are in operation, which is an acknowledgement that they can deliver new projects and have capital for ownership. The focus on battery storage is also very positive as it complements and therefore strengthens renewable energy's place in Sweden's energy mix", says Pontus.

For landowners, an energy park can mean more than contributing to Sweden's energy transition. A long-term lease can create a stable, inflation-protected source of income that complements, for example, agriculture or forestry and can provide room for investments in the main business. At the same time, our investments in energy infrastructure can create value for the local community through future establishments which in turn can provide jobs and tax revenues for the municipality.

"It's very fun and motivating to work with deals where all parties win. The decisions we make together extend over many years, so no question is too small when we develop an energy park together with you as a landowner", Pontus concludes.

Pontus is based at Fu-Gen's Jönköping office at Vallgatan 8.

Fu-Gen, the Swiss-based renewable energy developer and independent power producer, has delivered another substantial energy storage project in the Nordic Market. Fu-Gen has closed on a 100 MW ready-to-build, stand-alone battery energy storage system (BESS) located in Teuva muncipality, South Ostrobothnia region of Finland, with Nala Renewables, a global power and renewable energy platform and independent power producer.

This transaction, completed on 29th September 2026, is part of the framework agreement established between Fu-Gen and Nala Renewables in October 2025 for a ready-to-build BESS portfolio in Finland. This represents an important milestone for both parties, underscoring the productive partnership that has been established as well as the project’s strong technical and commercial readiness.

Seppo Tupeli, Fu-Gen Nordic Development Director, said:

“The successful divestment of this 100 MW ready-to-build BESS project in Finland demonstrates Fu-Gen's ability to originate, develop and deliver high-quality renewable energy assets across the Nordic region. The capital released through this transaction will support the continued maturation of our growing pipeline of wind and battery storage projects. It also enables an important new phase of our strategy. The rapid expansion of digital infrastructure requires clean and reliable power, and we are therefore developing data centre sites alongside our wind projects under a 'bring your own power' model, which provides digital infrastructure with a direct route to renewable energy. This represents a natural extension of our core expertise: developing projects that deliver new renewable capacity where it is needed most.”

Remy Verot, Nala Renewables Interim Chief Executive Officer, said:

“We are delighted to have closed on our third ready-to-build project with Fu-Gen, which brings our pipeline in Finland to 275MW / 550 MWh. Finland is a strategic market for BESS in Europe with a strong business case and we are delighted to continue expanding our footprint in the Nordics.”

Nala and Fu‑Gen have an established track record of delivering energy storage projects to the Nordic market, with Nala having previously acquired the 50 MW Kauhava and 125 MW Vuolijoki projects in 2025 and 2026 respectively.

Construction of the Kärppiö BESS project is expected to start later this year.
